Animal's All American Tattoo Emporium

Animal's All American Tattoo Emporium has been in business for over 20 years. I have been tattooing close to 25 years. I owe and hold great respect and honor for the man who unselfishly showed and gave me his time, knowledge and patience. Even though he has passed on to a better place, he stays in my heart and mind for his kindness and unselfishness. He was taken too soon but gave so much to so many, he is missed.
I spent a few years apprenticeship with the afore mentioned man, Moose, founder of Body Works Tattoos, then I opened my first shop in Weirton, West Virginia. I spent many good years at this location furthering my knowledge, skills, and business manners. I met many customers that still to this day are valued clients and friends. Wanting to learn from many different peers, I traveled with a gypsy tour spending time with different artists, watching, working, and accumulating different techniques and styles.
After the 'gypsy tour" years, I got home sick and decided to come home to Pittsburgh, bringing with me all the tattooing knowledge I had gathered in my travels. I think of all the lessons I learned from Moose, Bob Rutter, and my adventures, the necessity of cleanliness and sterilization is paramount. You will see if you decide to get tattooed at Animal's, that these rank first among the services I offer.
Back in Pittsburgh, I opened the first shop on main street in East Carnegie, and stayed there for eight enjoyable years, still learning and expanding my techniques. The owners of the building then decided to make a parking garage out of the site, which still hasn't happened. I had to find a new location, which is where the shop is located now, Main Street, West Carnegie. Everything happens for a reason, and it was a good move, a much more modern, clean, and comfortable atmosphere.
Well, I hope I haven't bored you because I left out so many of the little things at Mooses, the gypsy tour, people, places, things, would be apprentices, but I don't want to seem long winded. If you would like to know the in-between's, stop in at Animal's Tattoo Emporium and I'll fill in the gaps. Thanks .... Animal ....... animal@animalstattoos.com

  To the would be apprentice,
The way of life I have chosen is one of Love, Contentment, Satisfaction, and Honor, NOT capitol gain, although it is essential in today's world. Financial gain is, and can only be achieved and maintained by honoring the above words of Wisdom.
Love - To care in an all encompassing way about the art form you create, enough to be content, proud , and eager to share it with another.
Contentment - A feeling of achievement and completion, when you have created a balance with the person, allowing you to express and execute your innermost thought of design.
Satisfaction - The look and feeling of combined accomplishment of client, artist as they part, planning his or her return for the next addition to their collection of art.
These are words I was taught by a great teacher, only for me, to "try" to pass on to those who would do me the honor of attempting to continue to carry the tradition on through their life and pass it on with no variation to the next generation. To lose any of the tradition along the way, is to break the chain, and all honor is lost.
Along with the words of initiation, come yet other essentials of the learning, Trust, Honor, and Tradition. Love, Contentment, and Satisfaction is the work of the Soul. Honor, Trust, and Tradition, comes from the Mind and Heart. Combined, they create a true "Hori", in given time. Leave any of them out, and you will fail in life.
